A Note From Fr. LeRoy
Time goes so fast, or so it seems! It's hard to believe it but already we are looking at the end of summer as we see the Labor Day Weekend fast-approaching! During the past months, I hope you've had time to enjoy, rest, and relax before we gear up for the up and coming productive Fall months!
Fall is the time when many of our parish committees, choirs, parish programs, and other church organizations begin to ramp up. Among these is our own All Saints Academy Catholic School whose first day begins on August 30th of this week. This year we welcome Karl Terhaar as principal for our St. Cloud Campus and our new principal, Sara Michaelson, for the St. Joseph campus. With Paula Leider's departure to a Twin Cities Catholic school principal position, Karl Terhaar (who was our previous principal at St. Joseph) has graciously agreed to provide some continuity here for ASA, and was willing to take over our St. Cloud Campus. Sara, on the other hand is new to the Catholic School system, yet she comes with a wealth of experience in education. She previously served as Asst. Principal at Sartell Public High Schools. She also served as past Curriculum Director at Eden Valley public school system and taught math at one time as well. I ask that you please welcome her and support all our Catholic school principals. Be sure to thank them for the dedication they have and the hard work they do to make our Catholic Schools a success. Of course, along with our new principal positions, we have many of our familiar teachers returning to be with us from last year and yet we also have some new faces on board with staff as well.
Our student enrollment is holding steady with a huge increase in our Pre-K program. This year, at the St. Cloud Campus, we opened an additional Pre-K classroom to help with the influx and demand. With regard to Covid-19 etc., Bishop Kettler along with our CCS Superintendent are committed to in-person learning which is so much more productive and effective than distance learning. This said both our bishop and leaders within our CCS system are closely monitoring the ongoing situation with Covid-19 and the Delta variant. This may involve some other precautions as the school year goes on , however in-person learning remains a priority for us.
The proper education and spiritual growth of our children is so important, especially in those primary grades and formative years, and so we have a great staff and group of volunteers in our schools who help our children grow both academically and spiritually as well.
If you have not signed your children up within our Catholic School, please consider doing so. It's never too late to join us! If you would like more information, feel free to call the ASA Main Office at: 320-251-5295 or email us at: admin@allsaintsmn.org or check out the website at: www.allsaintsmn.org for more details. Our principals would be happy to give a tour for any potential families or answer any questions.
So, here's to enjoying this last week of Summer, asking God's blessings upon ASA students, staff, principals, and parents as we prepare for a new year of learning.
Peace!
Fr. LeRoy Scheierl
