A Note From Fr. LeRoy

As we continue to embark on the Church's Season of Ordinary Time, our "Together As One" Area Catholic Community also continues to move forward. At the request of the Chancery Office and the Diocesan Planning Council our ACC has created a new "Together As One" (ACC) Pastoral Council which is now in place. We recently receive word from the Diocese that our new ACC Pastoral Council Constitution and By-laws have been approved and at the request of the Diocesan Planning Council, our individual Parish Councils are in the process of being dissolved. From now on, our ACC will function under one ACC Pastoral Council in making decisions, creating policies and programs, and as a means of having better communication between our four parishes of St. Peter, St. Joseph, St. Michael and St. Paul. As a result of our new council, our ACC Transition Committee is also dissolved, since over the past three years, it has accomplished it's goals and mission.

Our new council will consist of 2 elected members from each of the four parishes at large, along with some "ex-officio members" consisting of the two trustees from each parish, the ACC Pastors and Parochial Vicar, the Deacons and up to four other appointed non-voting members. The elected members at large will serve 2 year terms with the option to renew a second term before their place on the council is replaced by someone new. This said, it is important to know that our individual Parish Finance Committees will continue to operate separately as each parish remains its own Corporation. This means that each parish is responsible for and must operate on its own finances.

On behalf of Fr. Timothy and myself, I want to thank all members of our previous ACC Transition Committee and our past Parish Pastoral Council members for their dedication in helping us get to this point. My hope is that our new "Together As One (ACC) Pastoral Council (with its new members) will continue to unite our four parishes and make us more vibrant than ever before.

Peace and Blessings,

Fr. LeRoy Scheierl
