A Note From Fr. LeRoy

Here at our "Together As One" ACC we are happy to welcome Joe Arseneau as our new Faith Formation Director and Nicole Carlson as his co-worker and F.F. Assistant! Both Joe and Nicole have already introduced themselves in our ACC bulletin and so, as you can see, they come with a unique set of skills and a variety of past experience in Religious Education. I am confident they will do an excellent job in passing on the rich Tradition of our Catholic Faith to our adults, teenagers and children as they provide unique opportunities for us to grow in Christ. Both Joe and Nicole are excited to be on board and are working hard to put together a new program as our Religious Education School year begins. I ask that you pray for, support, and even consider volunteering and help them in accomplishing their mission of passing on the Gospel of Christ.

I do want to thank Lisa Neu, our past F.F. Director, for the wonderful work she has done over the last few years and for her generously helping with the transition to our new F.F. leadership. Lisa has done much to get our program to a good place! We wish her well with her new position with the Franciscan Sisters in Little Falls.

This past week on Sept. 15th, Joe and Nicole met with our Catechists for training. Soon they will be setting up the various classrooms at St. Peter’s for our ACC. Faith Formation classes in our ACC for all the children ages Pre-K through 9th grade will begin on Wednesday, September 29th from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm in one location at St. Peter. Parents will meet each week in the church body with our students at 6:00 pm for prayer, information sharing and maybe a little instruction before the students are dismissed to their individual classrooms. With regard to our Confirmation Program, "Discipleship Training Sessions" will begin Wednesday, October 6th from 7:30-9:00 p.m. for all 10th graders and those older wishing to be confirmed.

As in years past (before Covid) we are re-introducing our Community Meal served from 5:00 pm to 5:45 pm before class. This is offered to all parents, students and anyone else who would like to join us. We have a great group of volunteers who are willing to take this on again. The cost of the meal is minimal. We do this not only to help build our ACC Faith Formation community to get to know each other, but also; as a convenience for parents who work so they will not have to prepare a meal that evening for their families before Religious Ed.

We are excited to begin our new year of Wednesday night Faith Formation! If you, as parents (or even grandparents) have children or grandchildren interested in joining us, please contact Joe Arseneau or Nicole Carlson in their office at: 320-251-4831 ext 212 or check out our website and parish Facebook for more information and details. In the meantime, let’s pray for our Directors, Teachers, Volunteers and especially our children that they may grow in faith and wisdom and holiness in Christ!

Peace, Fr. LeRoy Scheierl
